Walgreens passport photos: prints, digital copies and store checks
Walgreens includes the digital copy: the passport-photo order comes with a digital version emailed to you at no extra charge, alongside the prints. What genuinely varies by store is availability, price and whether the location can shoot a non-US format.
Quick answer
The digital file comes free by email — ask for it
You do not have to buy the digital copy separately or scan the print at home; Walgreens emails it with the order. Do confirm that the specific store offers passport photos and can produce the size your document needs before you travel.
Reference table
| Before ordering | Question | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Does this location offer passport photos? | Not every store has the same setup |
| Format | Is it US 2x2 or another size? | Country rules differ |
| Output | Prints plus a digital copy by email | The digital file is included, not an upsell |
| Timing | Walk-in or appointment? | Avoid an unnecessary trip |
| Price | What is today’s price? | Retail offers change |
Check the destination first
Retailers commonly optimise for the local default. Bring the official country and document requirements if you need a visa, residence permit or non-US passport format.
Inspect the result before leaving
Check the face, eyes, background, crop and print size while the service can retake the image. Keep a digital original if the application is online.
Compare convenience with control
A store can be quick, but a controlled online workflow may be better for a non-standard size, a portal file limit or a photo that needs a final checker before upload.
Frequently asked questions
01How much are Walgreens passport photos?
The current price depends on the store and service. Verify the official Walgreens photo page or selected location.
02Does Walgreens provide a digital file?
Yes — the passport-photo order includes a digital copy emailed to you at no extra cost. If the email has not arrived by the time you leave the store, ask at the counter rather than scanning the print at home.
03Can Walgreens make a visa photo?
Ask the store about the exact country and document size; a standard US passport service is not universal.
04Can I walk in?
Availability varies. Check the location before travelling, especially outside normal photo-service hours.
