Who this applies to
These requirements are mandatory for citizens of Ukraine and other foreigners applying for a tourist, business, or other visa to Bangladesh through the official government portal.
What to do now
- Take a new photo: Take a picture against a plain white background. The face should occupy 70-80% of the frame area, and the facial expression must be neutral.
- Crop the image: Use a graphics editor to set the exact proportions (45 mm height, 35 mm width).
- Compress the file: Save the photo in JPEG format. If the file is larger than 300 KB, use an online compressor to reduce the size without losing quality.
- Upload to the application: Add the prepared file on the visa.gov.bd portal while filling out the application.
- Print copies: Make 2 physical copies of the same photo (on high-quality matte or glossy photo paper) to submit along with your passport.
Common mistakes
- Exceeding the 300 KB limit: The system simply will not allow you to upload the file, and you will not be able to complete the application registration.
- Incorrect format: Uploading a PNG or PDF instead of the required JPEG.
- Incorrect size: Using a standard 50x50 mm photo (like for a US visa). Bangladesh specifically requires a 45 mm height and 35 mm width.
- Colored background: Any background other than white can cause your documents to be rejected.
Rules change frequently — before taking action, always check the current requirements on the official government source provided above.
