Mozambique eTA and Photo Requirements for Ukrainians (2026)

What has changed

• Photo type: Recent passport-style photo (usually 35x45 mm).
• Background: Solid white, without shadows or foreign objects.
• Facial expression: Neutral, looking straight at the camera (full face).
• Quality: Clear, in color, without digital retouching or filters.
• Recency: Taken no more than 6 months before submitting the application.

Who this applies to

The new rules apply to all Ukrainian citizens planning to visit Mozambique for tourism, visiting relatives, or for short-term business trips (up to 30 days). Travelers who require a longer stay or are traveling for other purposes must apply for the appropriate electronic visa (e-Visa), the base cost of which is approximately $190 USD.

1. Take the right photo: Take a picture against a white background without glasses or headwear (unless worn for religious beliefs). Save the file in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.
2. Prepare documents: Make a color copy of the biometric page of your passport (valid for more than 6 months), prepare proof of accommodation booking, a return ticket, and a bank statement.
3. Submit the application: Go to the official website evisa.gov.mz at least 48 hours before your planned trip.
4. Pay the fee: Pay the eTA fee (around $48) using a bank card.
5. Print the authorization: After receiving approval by email, download the PDF file, print it, and take it with you to present when boarding the flight and at the border.

Common mistakes

• Attempting to get a visa on arrival: The Government of Mozambique strongly requires applying for an eTA in advance, as you may be denied boarding without it.
• Poor quality photo: Uploading selfies, photos with filters, or cropped scans of old photos is the most common reason for delays or rejection in processing the application.
