Denmark-specific things to know
- Denmark states the head as 30–36 mm from the chin to the top of the hair on a 35 × 45 mm photo, and the background as «uniform light», with light blue and light grey as examples — white is not named — and black-and-white is accepted.
- The leaflet is shared with driving licences, and the office where you apply can waive individual requirements in special cases.
- Some municipalities take the picture at the citizen service, so you may not need to bring a photo at all.

- Danish Police leaflet «Foto pas og kørekort» (translated from the Danish): the picture must be a good likeness, taken straight from the front and suitable for scanning; all the rules also apply to children; format 35 mm × 45 mm; the head between 30 and 36 mm from the point of the chin to the top of the hair; the picture shows the face and the top of the shoulders.
- Same leaflet, subject and background: only one person in the picture, taken straight from the front; the background without patterns and in a uniform light colour, for example light blue or light grey; the picture may be in colour or black-and-white; the gaze towards the camera, the eyes fully visible and the mouth closed; pictures of people with white or fair hair, or with a light headscarf, must have a background in sharp contrast.
- Same leaflet, quality, glasses and headwear: even lighting that does not cast shadows on the face or the background; a picture of good quality without holes, stamps or other damage; a photograph or a print on good-quality photo paper with a very high resolution; the eyes completely free of the frame and the glasses without tint or reflections; headwear allowed only for religious reasons, with the forehead, chin area and cheekbones visible; in special cases individual requirements may be waived, decided where you apply for the passport.
