What the source confirms
- Lithuanian citizens abroad apply for an ID card in person through a consular post or, in Lithuania, a migration office.
- The same official page covers both Lithuanian passport and identity-card applications.
- For children aged 1-16, the page lists two age-appropriate photos and links the national photo-requirements source.
- The Migration Department rules name the identity card first in the list of documents they cover, alongside the passport, service passport, alien’s passport, driving licence and residence permit.
- The photo sheet must be 40 × 60 mm and shot so that 35 × 45 mm rectangles can be cut out of it.
- Because laser engraving reproduces only greyscale, the Migration Department recommends a black-and-white photo for laser-engraved documents, the identity card included.
