The upload is not the whole visa-photo rule
The online file can be accepted by the form and still be questioned at the appointment if it does not represent you or violates the current photo guidance. Keep the source and final export for reference.

Use the official photo examples, take the photo under even light, crop and export once, then open the final file in an image viewer to confirm its true format and dimensions.
Separate visa route from document route
A DS-160 photo is tied to a US nonimmigrant visa application. Do not assume the same file contract applies to a passport, DV entry, Green Card, EAD or naturalization filing.

Can I wear glasses in a DS-160 photo?
No. Glasses have not been accepted in US visa photos since 1 November 2016. The only exceptions are medical, and they need documentation from a doctor — everyday prescription glasses are not one of them.
Can I upload the same photo as my passport photo?
