What cropping will not fix
- A wrong background — cropping does not repaint the wall behind you. This document needs: plain light
- A shadow on the face or on the wall. Step 1–2 m away from the wall and shoot facing a window.
- Glare on the lenses. Take the glasses off or turn away from the light source and shoot again.
- A smile, raised brows or a half-open mouth. Cropping keeps the face it was given.
- Too few pixels. If the original is smaller than 413 × 531 px, enlarging it only blurs the face.
Why these photos get rejected — and how to fix each one
| Reason | Fix |
|---|---|
| Background not pure white | Re-shoot against white backdrop |
| Outdoor photo | Use ASAN on-site or studio |
| Head height under 30.8mm | Re-shoot closer to camera |

Where these numbers come from
Source: State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Last checked against the official page on 2026-05-17.
- The State Migration Service publishes an official work-permit document list for paid labour activity.
- That work-permit list is employer-led and includes the application form, passport copy, qualification document, employment justification and medical reference.
- The same official migration material links work authorization to temporary-residence grounds, where two 3.5 × 4.5 cm photos are required.
- The public work-permit page does not publish a standalone applicant-photo or biometric card matrix.
- This profile treats 35 × 45 mm as a migration-document photo route when the residence/workflow requires photos, with local SMS instructions controlling the final filing.
