- The Visa Rules allow a black-and-white photograph as well as a colour one, and require it to match the person's age and show a clear full face; there is no mention of a background colour.
- The 413 × 531 pixels, 30 KB figures are from the identity-document page for Kazakh citizens, not from the visa rules — a visa photograph is a printed 3.5 × 4.5 cm print pasted on the form.
- The e-visa needs a valid invitation, is limited to business, tourist and treatment categories and, according to the portal's instruction, is not issued to foreigners travelling with children; its steps have no photo upload.

What the source confirms
- e-Government of Kazakhstan, obtaining a visa: the documents for a visa are the visa application form with a colour or black-and-white photograph measuring 3.5 × 4.5 cm; the number and date of the invitation registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (when applying at a foreign mission or an international airport of Kazakhstan), or the application of the recipient of the visa category provided for in paragraph 25 of the Rules; a valid diplomatic, service or foreign passport or another recognised identity document; the original payment documents for the consular fee.
- Visa and Migration Portal, text of the Visa Rules: the photo pasted in the visa application form shall correspond to the age of the citizen at the time of the document execution, with a clear full-face image of the person, no darkened-lens goggles and no headdress, except for persons for whom constant carrying of a headdress is an obligatory attribute of their national or religious affiliation, provided that the person is represented in such a headdress in the passport photo; the visa application form is filled in by hand or by machine script in the state language, Russian or English, with exhaustive answers, and signed by the visa recipient personally.
