Crop a photo to 35 × 45 mm — Latvia id card

For this document the photo is taken by the office, not by you

This is not a document where you bring or upload your own portrait: the photo is taken where the application is filed. Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia still publishes what the portrait has to look like, and those numbers are on this page — but meeting them in a file of your own does not replace that visit.

Latvia-specific things to know

Printing on a single sheet

4 × 2 frames fit on one 10×15 cm sheet — 8 copies from a single print.

10 × 15 cm · 4×6″8 (4 × 2)
A4 · 21 × 29.7 cm36 (6 × 6)

Print at 100% scale, borderless, and turn off fit-to-page so each photo keeps its exact size.

Where these numbers come from

Source: Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia. Last checked against the official page on 2026-05-17.

What the source confirms
  • Latvia normally photographs ID-card applicants at the OCMA division.
  • The same identity-document process references regulatory photograph requirements.
  • The official OCMA photo rules confirm the 35 × 45 mm close-up biometric baseline.
  • The applicant should face the camera directly with a natural expression and uniform background.
  • This page remains official-general because the ID-card process relies mainly on authority capture.

What the cropper is still good for here

It will not produce the official photo for this document. It is here for the neighbouring jobs: a portrait for the application form, a copy for your own records, or another Latvia document that does accept a photo you prepared yourself.

The document requires: 35 × 45 mm · Head height 70–80%

The photo is cropped in your browser. It is not uploaded to a server and we do not store it.

How to crop it, in three steps

  1. Upload a photo taken face-on, in even light
  2. Move the photo until the eyes sit on the guide line and the head fills 70–80%
  3. Save the 35 × 45 mm result — print it or attach it to the application
