Cameroon-specific things to know

  • Cameroon's ordinary e-visa list names no photograph at all — the documents are scanned (pdf or jpg) and uploaded — while diplomatic and service visas filed at the embassy take two identity photos.
  • After an electronic authorisation the visa can be stamped at the entry checkpoint, where the applicant's «electronic parameters» are collected.

How visa photos are verified

For the ordinary Cameroonian visa the Embassy of Cameroon in Germany lists a passport valid at least six months from departure, a legalised invitation in Cameroon or a hosting certificate, a copy of the flight ticket or reservation and a copy of the yellow-fever vaccination booklet — and no photograph; these documents, as pdf or jpg, are uploaded in the applicant's space on the evisacam platform. For the diplomatic or service visa, filed at the embassy, it asks for «two (2) identity photos» with the application form, the passport, the invitation or mission order and a verbal note, with a processing time of two weeks. The Embassy in the Netherlands explains that all entry visas have been applied for online since 30 April 2023 — register and upload the documents, pay online, and the embassy examines the file; the visa is then affixed at the embassy, or an electronic authorisation with a QR code is issued and the applicant's «parameters» are collected at the entry checkpoint, where a six-month visa is stamped — and that «no file submitted outside the evisacam.cm platform will be admitted». The pages give no size or face rule; the ordinary-visa photograph, if the platform asks for one, is not described there.

How to take it

How to take your Cameroon visa photo correctly

Background and light

Background: plain light

The tool puts in the required background. Stand half a metre from a plain light wall, face a window and shoot without flash — then there are no shadows on your face or on the wall.

Framing

Head: 70–80 % of the photo height

Camera at eye level, about a metre away; head and shoulders in the shot. The tool crops it to 51 × 51 mm.

Glasses

Clear lenses only, no glare

If you wear glasses, check the shot: no glare on the lenses, eyes clearly visible.

Expression and gaze

Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open

Look straight into the lens with your head level; keep hair away from your eyes and eyebrows.
