For a Czech Schengen visa the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asks for a photo of 35 × 45 mm that shows your current appearance in a full-face view, with «the height from the eyes to the bottom of the chin at least 13 mm», civil attire, no sunglasses (except for the blind) and no head cover except for religious or health reasons — and the cover must not stop your identification. A photo is a condition of admissibility: without it the application is not accepted. The missions add the rest: the Embassy in Cairo wants a photograph that «conforms to ICAO standards… high quality, taken against a plain light background, not older than 6 months, showing you looking directly at the camera with your eyes open» and «attached to the application form with glue (do not staple it)»; the Consulate General in Los Angeles wants one recent colour photo of 3.5 × 4.5 cm (or 2 × 2 inch) on a white background with the entire face visible, no sunglasses or headgear, good print quality on photo paper from a professional studio; the Embassy in Yerevan adds a neutral expression, the mouth closed, the eyes open and the hair not covering them. Fingerprints are given at the first application and are in general not given again for 59 months.
