Rules for the face
- The face occupies about 77% of the height of the frame; the gap from the top of the head to the edge of the photo — about 6%.
- Gaze straight into the camera, neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open.
- Glasses: take them off. Allowed only for medical reasons — without glare and without covering the eyes.
- Headwear: prohibited, except for religious reasons, and provided that the entire face is visible.
Where to apply
The application is fully online at evisa.gov.az. The electronic visa is single-entry, valid up to 90 days from the date of issue, and allows a stay of up to 30 days. Standard processing — about 3 business days, urgent — about 3 hours. The approved visa is printed out and shown at the border.
Most common reasons for rejection
- Gray, cream or textured background instead of white; shadows or glare on the background.
- Resolution lower than 354×472 px or a blurry/over-compressed photo.
- Glare on glasses, closed eyes, a smile with teeth.
- Old photo (over 6 months) or a scanned paper one with shadows.
- Too much margin: the face is too small in the frame.
Tip
Before uploading, check that the size in pixels (at least 354×472) and the background meet the requirements, and that the file is not too heavy — this is the most common reason for resubmission.
