Scan of the passport data page

- maximum 2048 KB (2 MB);
- the entire data page is fully visible, including the machine-readable lines (ICAO, the line with the characters «<<<<») — no part is cropped, covered or darkened;
- the shot is sharp, in focus, with even lighting and no glare.
The most common reasons for rejection
The e-Visa portal checks the images strictly and automatically after upload. Applications are rejected when:
- the format is wrong (PNG, PDF) or the file exceeds 1024 KB;
- the photo is in glasses or has shadows on the face or background;
- a coloured or patterned background instead of white;
- the head takes up too little space in the frame (it should be approximately 70–80%) or, conversely, is too close;
- the photo is older than 6 months;
- the same shot is uploaded both as the portrait and instead of the passport page;
- a blurry, dark or edited image.
Tip
Take the shot in daylight against a white wall, tuck your hair behind your ears and remove your glasses. Check that the file is JPG and weighs less than 1024 KB before uploading to evisa.gov.vn or thithucdientu.gov.vn.
