Why these photos get rejected — and how to fix each one
Vietnam-specific things to know
- The Vietnamese work permit photo is 4 × 6 cm, a tall format, and the file needs two colour photos on a white background.
- The two Vietnamese pages differ slightly on glasses — «no colored glasses» on the government portal against no glasses on the National Public Service Portal — so the safe choice is to take them off.
- The photos go in the file together with a notarized copy of the passport and the employer's approval of the demand for foreign workers; the employer or the worker files, and the pages read give no photo-size tolerance.

- Viet Nam government portal, «Work permits», document list for a work permit: 02 colored photos (4 cm × 6 cm, with a white background, frontal side, bareheaded, and no colored glasses); the photos shall be taken within 06 months of the date of application; an acceptance of the demand for foreign workers, unless it is not required; 01 notarized copy of the valid passport; and the documents relevant to the foreign worker (for an intra-company transfer, a document from the foreign company and proof of at least 12 consecutive months of employment before the transfer; for a manager, executive, expert or technician, a document from the foreign enterprise matching the job position).
- Same page: a work permit is a document issued by the Vietnamese competent authorities to a foreign employee who meets the conditions stipulated by law, and a foreign employee who is granted one is considered to work legally.
