Crop a photo to 40 × 60 mm — Vietnam id card (cccd)

For this document the photo is taken by the office, not by you

This is not a document where you bring or upload your own portrait: the photo is taken where the application is filed. Vietnam National Public Service Portal still publishes what the portrait has to look like, and those numbers are on this page — but meeting them in a file of your own does not replace that visit.

Do not confuse it with another Vietnam document

Vietnam does not use one frame for everything. This page is about id card (cccd) — 40 × 60 mm. The documents below are cut to a different size, so a file prepared here will not fit them.

Print at 100% scale, borderless, and turn off fit-to-page so each photo keeps its exact size.

What the source confirms
  • The National Public Service Portal says citizens apply at the provincial police identity-card authority or through the official online/app booking route.
  • The officer checks information against the national population database.
  • The procedure includes collecting fingerprints.
  • The procedure includes taking the citizen's face image and iris image.
  • The public source confirms authority capture and does not publish an applicant-supplied print-photo size.

What the cropper is still good for here

It will not produce the official photo for this document. It is here for the neighbouring jobs: a portrait for the application form, a copy for your own records, or another Vietnam document that does accept a photo you prepared yourself.

The document requires: 40 × 60 mm · Head height 70–80%

The photo is cropped in your browser. It is not uploaded to a server and we do not store it.

How to crop it, in three steps

  1. Upload a photo taken face-on, in even light
  2. Move the photo until the eyes sit on the guide line and the head fills 70–80%
  3. Save the 40 × 60 mm result — print it or attach it to the application
