Poland-specific things to know
- Poland names the face share — 70–80 % of the photo — and asks that the pupils be clearly visible and the outline of the head clear, with no overexposed background.
- A digital photo goes on a data carrier as a 480 × 615 pixel JPEG of at most 100 KB with an EXIF header holding the date of the shot — a file rule few other countries state.
- Dark glasses and a religious head covering are allowed only with proof (a disability decision, a certificate of membership of a registered religious community) and a similar photo in the identity document.

What the source confirms
- gov.pl, photo for the driving licence (translated from the Polish, updated 17 July 2025), general: the photo should be in colour; current — taken not earlier than 6 months before the application; sharp (without visible pixels) with a natural contrast; on a uniform light background; 35 × 45 mm; showing the whole head, the image not further than the upper part of the shoulders, the natural skin colour and the eyes, especially the pupils, clearly.
- Same page, the face: looking straight ahead; no headwear, no dark glasses or other things that could make recognition harder; the eyes open and not covered by hair; a natural expression and a closed mouth; the face taking 70–80 % of the photo; the contour of the head clear (an overexposed background is not allowed).
