Morocco-specific things to know

  • Two routes, two sizes: 35 × 45 mm for the eVisa, 4 × 3 cm on white for the consular list. The consular figure is written «4 X 3 cm»; print the size the consulate that covers you confirms.
  • The eVisa photo is a file, not a print: JPG, JPEG or PDF of at most 1 MB, in colour, to the ICAO standard, taken within six months. The conditions name no background colour, so use the plain white of the ICAO baseline.
  • Photo and passport scans must be clear: an incomplete application or one with inaccurate information is not covered by the 24- or 72-hour delay.

How visa photos are verified

Morocco's two visa routes ask for two different photographs. The eVisa on acces-maroc.ma — issued online to foreigners of certain categories (A: nationals of listed countries; B: residents of the EU, US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, the UAE and Switzerland; C: holders of a multiple-entry Schengen, US, UK or other listed visa) — asks you to attach a colour identity photograph of 35 × 45 mm, of good quality, taken within the last six months and showing the facial features clearly in line with the ICAO standard, scanned as jpg, jpeg or pdf of no more than 1 MB.

The paper route through a Moroccan consulate lists two colour identity photographs on a white background written 4 × 3 cm, again showing the features of the face clearly. The eVisa is single-entry, valid up to 180 days for a stay of up to 30 days, and is issued in 24 hours (express) or 72 hours (standard) on Moroccan working days.

How to take it

How to take your Morocco visa photo correctly

Background and light

Background: plain light

The tool puts in the required background. Stand half a metre from a plain light wall, face a window and shoot without flash — then there are no shadows on your face or on the wall.

Framing

Head: 70–80 % of the photo height

Camera at eye level, about a metre away; head and shoulders in the shot. The tool crops it to 35 × 45 mm.

Glasses

Clear lenses only, no glare

If you wear glasses, check the shot: no glare on the lenses, eyes clearly visible.

Expression and gaze

Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open

Look straight into the lens with your head level; keep hair away from your eyes and eyebrows.
