UAE-specific things to know
- The permit is requested by the employer, and the entry visa is valid for only 60 days: the worker has 60 days after entering to complete the residence permit, so the photo has to be ready early.
- MOHRE says «clear colored photo with a white background» and gives no size; the ICP guide writes «6/4» without a unit — the unit has to be taken from the application you use.
- The passport must be valid for at least six months both on the MOHRE page and in the ICP guide, which also asks for a medically-fit report at the residence stage.

- MOHRE, «Recruiting a worker from overseas» (a new work permit requested by the employer): permit duration two years; service completion 2 working days; required documents — a clear coloured photo with a white background; a passport copy with a validity period of at least six months; the official job offer form issued by the Ministry, signed by both the employer and the employee; academic certificates by skill level; professional licence where applicable; for workers of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran, both sides of the national ID card issued by the home country.
- ICP Services Guide 2024, «Issue of Entry Permit for work»: documents — a recent personal photo with a white background, size 6/4; a health insurance document; an employment contract if linked to one; a copy of the passport; a financial guarantee document. The entry visa is valid for 60 days from issuance and the period of stay is 60 days to complete the requirements for issuing a residence permit.
