The official electronic visa portal of Uzbekistan (e-visa.gov.uz) is unusually exact about the photo and checks it automatically. Its information line says: «the photo must have a size of 35x45 mm with a resolution of 300 dpi; image dimensions should not exceed 1 Mb; the photo must meet the standards», and the error message adds «required image should be jpg format and file size should be less than 1024 KB».
The terms of use say that «the uploaded face image must comply with the recommendations of the ICAO DOC9303», and the portal answers a photo that does not with «uploaded images are not comply with ICAO standards», so a crooked head, shadows, glasses with glare or a non-plain background will stop the application at the «Photo and passport» step, where you upload the face photo and a copy of the main data page of the travel document. Save the file as .jpg under 1 MB — the portal's code rejects a larger file or another extension.
At an embassy or consulate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists, besides the passport (valid at least 3 months longer than the visa) and 2 copies of the application form, «2 color photos (passport size — 35x45mm)». Citizens of countries without an Uzbek mission can get a visa on arrival at the visa service sector of the Ministry at Tashkent International Airport, on the invitation of a person or company in Uzbekistan.
